Class Descriptions
Charleston
Learn the eight count dance that evolved into lindy hop. This class will cover basic, partnered charleston, including side-by-side and face-to-face variations, 1920's footwork and styling, and some cool moves to get you going.
Shim Sham Variations
A line dance for lindy hoppers! This class will teach Frankie Manning's version of this ever-popular line dance, and will offer some breaktime footwork variations for the dancers who wish to challenge themselves. Get ready to show off when Frankie leads the Shim Sham at the Saturday night dance!
Charleston & Tandem Variations
Originating in the 1930's, this variation of partnered charleston allows you to ramp-up your swing repertoire. This class will include a variety of high-energy tandem moves with styling options, and will move at a slightly faster pace. Solid basic charleston foundation highly recommended.
Advanced Lindy
Specifically designed to wake you up, this class is not for the faint of heart. Moving at a faster learning pace and faster tempos, this class will combine movement, musicality, and challenging moves to help you shine on the dance floor. Six months to one year of lindy hop and large doses of caffeine recommended.
Blues & Tango Fusion
For the smooth-dancing, connection junkie in everyone, this class is tailored to the slow mover. Focusing on closed connection and true lead/follow dancing, this class will use some basic argentine tango movement to spice up your blues dancing and turn some heads at the same time.
