Jessica Marie
Jessica has been dancing since age three. She danced competitively for 12 years and was trained in tap, jazz, and ballet. She began her Latin dance journey more than three years ago, and while she focused primarily on Salsa and Bachata, beware, she goes loco for a super fast típico merengue!
When Jessica isn’t studying, researching, or dancing, she is traveling. She has journeyed all over the world including to one of her favorite places, South Africa. In April of 2021 she attended her first dance congress, Bachateando, in Miami. While there she took workshops with Rodrigo and Wendy and a variety of other master instructors. In November of 2021 she attended Viva La Bachata in Baltimore. She attended workshops taught by Bianca/El Tiguere, Kat Arias, and Ataca and her Bachata role model, La Alemana. Jessica is a current team member of Azúcar! Dance Company, the all ladies On 2 team, and is a Salsa and Mambo instructor-in-training at Viva Dance Studio.
On Fridays she can be seen at Salsa Europa/Ceviche and basically any dance event going down in Cleveland and surrounding areas. She assists classes at Viva and around town including last summer’s Salsa event at Whiskey Island. Jessica believes that social dancing is invaluable as it helps improve not only your dancing skills but also your social skills as well. The amount of people you meet from so many different walks of life is absolutely incredible. Many remain good friends and it’s exciting to meet up with them at the next event!
