Born into an Air Force family, Brittany is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, but was raised all over the USA. Brittany moved to Cleveland in the summer of 2011 to pursue her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She started performing and competing at an early age, originally as a gymnast, swimmer and martial artist and eventually as a thespian and a dancer. Throughout the years she has trained in a variety of dance styles including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern/contemporary, and freestyle/go-go. Beginning shortly before her move to Cleveland, she entered the realm of partner dancing, which became an instant passion for her!
Once in Cleveland, she immediately began training under the superb coaching of former Eddie Torres student, Rebecca Sweet. She has trained in a number of social Latin dances including Argentine Tango, Salsa/Mambo (On1 and On2 styles), Cha Cha Cha, and Bachata. She also trained and competed in International Latin, a category of ballroom dancing comprised of 5 styles: Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive, and Paso Doble. Additionally, over the past four years, Brittany became a certified fitness instructor, a licensed Zumba instructor, has trained and performed with the Cleveland State University Dance Team, the Latin Soul Ballroom’s ladies latin dance team, the Soulseras, and became a member of the Viva Dance Studio’s mambo team, Saoco de Mambo.
Presently, Brittany is an instructor at Viva Dance Studio, she still performs with Saoco de Mambo and other local dancers, she hosts various dance socials and she teaches a variety of group classes and private lessons throughout the greater Cleveland area.
