Jean-Paul is a native Clevelander, currently living and teaching
his students in Columbus, OH at Dance Plus Ballroom and
when he is in Cleveland, at Viva Dance!. Before teaching, he
competed as an amateur and won several titles in the Ohio
Fred Astaire organization such as Top Male Student.
After turning ³pro², he then went on and achieved Top Teacher awards as well as Open American Rhythm Champion three years in a row with Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Ohio. After leaving the Fred Astaire organization, Jean-Paul continued to teach and compete independently and was a finalist in several competitions in the Rising Star and Open American Rhythm divisions. He has also judged venues from collegiate ballroom competitions to local and regional show choir competitions as the head choreography judge and is also the main coach for the Ohio State Ballroom Team. Jean-Paul is Rebecca Sweet's current competitive partner, and they are working very hard towards their first competition in the International Latin division. Their coach is Louis VanAmstel. You may have seen him on ³Dancing with the Stars² with his partner Lisa Rinna. |
